The More You Know: You might not be as weird as you think...

Allow me to tell you a few things about me:

1. I like math even though I sometimes struggle to do it. This essentially makes me a traitor to all my fellow liberal arts majors. I've lied on more than one occasion to make it seem like I hate math so that I'd fit in, however that is just pure untruth. Do I enjoy sitting around working out complicated calculus problems in my pj's while munching Cheetos in my spare time? Of course not! I was smart enough to know I should avoid calculus when I was in high school and college. But I do get a kick out of solving problems and figuring things out - like sale prices, for example - without using a calculator.

2. I like watching MMA fights. People usually react one of two ways when they find out. They will a) give me a crazy look and start to question if they ever really knew me because how could this sweet lil innocent thing enjoy watching grown men beat each other to a pulp and she KNOWS their NAMES toooo?? ; b) men especially will be incredulous and start to ask questions about different fighters in different weight classes. I dare them. When I can keep up in this conversation, it's usually a shocker - to everyone but me.

3. I don't eat fortune cookies. But I do unwrap them just to see what my fortune is and then leave the uneaten cookie on the table. If you can even call it that... the consistency is more like stale styrofoam... bleh. I still say I've never met a cookie I didn't like because that crunchy lil bit of almond-flavored plastic is in no way worthy of the title "cookie."

4. I have very eclectic tastes in music. If you put my iTunes playlist on shuffle, you're likely to hear everything from Alif Tree to Florence + the Machine to Sister Hazel to K'Naan to Velvet Revolver. Just for fun, as I write this, I'm listening to...

5. I'm a living, breathing conundrum. I can feel lonely when surrounded by people. I love French, but I'll rarely look at it or speak it even when given the chance because I'm afraid I won't remember it. I have a profound fear of heights, but I love to fly.

6. When I was little, every time I heard a teacher say "Stay seated," I thought my name was being called, so I'd sometimes get up and go to her desk... :-/ This caused more than one very uncomfortable situation for me as a chronic rule-follower.

7. I'm so rebellious. Even though I know I shouldn't, I hold my pee until I just about can't hold it anymore. Why, you ask? Because I'm a rebel... that's why. :P
